Once upon a time… actually it was the year 2013. A young woman named Rina was just beginning to find her way in the world at just 23. She had found refuge staying at her gracious older sister's home and started taking classes at her local community college. She was grateful for her new friends she had made, for it was friends that led her to her prince charming.
Dewy-eyed and unsuspecting, the young prince was in the prime of his life. Studying for his Masters and interning for a software company, he spent much of his free time playing ping-pong with his friends. One day, a mutual friend suggested grabbing a bite to eat at a new restaurant with some friends. Intrigued by the food, he went not knowing he would soon meet his princess.
Almost instantly, the sparks and butterflies arrived. On their first date, they visited a nearby park for a picnic. Pizza was on the menu and during their date, a neighborhood puppy crashed their picnic. It was during this picnic when Princess Rina and Prince Mitchell began to see one another for who they both really were -- kind, gentle, silly, and compassionate.
The year was 2015 and with the support of his parents, Prince Mitchell was able to find a home in Downtown San Jose to live together with his Princess and doggy named Yoko. It was a modest home of about 450 square feet (a cottage, if you will).
You really don't know a person until you live with them. Luckily, for Princess Rina and Prince Mitchell, those challenges were never too tough for them to handle. They both worked through them together with clear communication, an open heart, and kindness. During this time, Mitchell, Rina, and Yoko went on adventures, reaching new heights in their education and careers.
After living in their downtown cottage for several years, Prince Mitchell and Princess Rina were ready to look for their forever home (in this economy??). As fate would have it, they were fortunate enough to find the perfect home. They felt ready to take the next steps, get married and settle down.
The Prince and Princess took a small getaway to Portland, Oregon to celebrate their 10 year anniversary. The prince had it all planned out -- he would bring his Princess to Oregon's famous Multnomah Falls and propose on the romantic bridge that overlooks the famous waterfall, but as luck would have it, it was impossible to find parking! Prince Mitchell was in a bit of a panic, but Princess Rina suggested a smaller park just a few miles down that was just as lovely and had smaller waterfalls. Prince Mitchell realized at that moment just how truly lucky he was to have such an easy-going and solution-oriented partner. They hiked up the mountain and found themselves alone by one of the waterfalls. Rina wanted to take a selfie and turned to take the picture. After the selfie was taken, Rina turned back around and Mitchell immediately got down on one knee!!!
A beautiful speech by the Prince, many many MANY tears of joy by the Princess, lots of hugging and kisses, and pictures of the ring thereafter. And they lived Happily Ever After.
